News for July 2010 - Shoulder Pain Month
The shoulder is a complex structure made up of 4 different joints and over a dozen separate muscles that must all work together perfectly. One of the more common sources of shoulder pain is a breakdown in the “teamwork” of these joints and muscles. Shoulder pain seems to come on with middle age. Perhaps we’ve abused our shoulders or have let minor problems get worse over time.
Relieving shoulder pain requires a combined approach that addresses both the joint mechanics AND the muscles that support joint function. Joint mechanics are best addressed with corrective chiropractic adjustments. The muscles need additional therapy which may include low level laser therapy, specialized therapeutic massage including the percussor and other release techniques.
News for May 2010
- Mother’s Day - next Sunday, May 9th! A favorite gift is a Gift Certificate (in any amount) for a relaxing massage! Stop in this week and pick up one for that special someone in your life. Learn more about massage by clicking here.
- Continuing Education is continuing. May 5th I’ll be attending acupuncture classes in Minneapolis. The Saint Ansgar, Iowa office will be closed on Saturday. Acupuncture has been shown to be a significant pain reliever in difficult cases as well as balancing energy levels.
- The newest Pulsed Magnetic Cellular Exercise (PMCE) machine in our Rochester office continues to change outcomes in chronic conditions. For instance, we have an 84 year old man who could hardly walk due to knee pain and stiffness. He’s feeling good again and is back out on the farm working after only a few sessions.
- I attended an outstanding class on Low Level Laser (LLL) therapy a couple of weeks ago. We’re planning to use our laser more and more since it cuts down on tissue healing time, restores energy, and resets the nervous system — a perfect compliment to chiropractic adjustments!
- This is a month to get into shape. Memorial Day holiday is the last day of the month. Expect all kinds of yard work, sports activities and outdoor fun with our early spring. Keep in shape. Get adjusted. Activate your health!
